Tuesday - September 29, 2020:

  • Top 4 reasons to come to AI after school in the Library today. 1- Snacks 2- Snacks 3- get the help you need to finish your homework 4- snacks
  • Want to play video games on the OKM Esports team. Come out to E10 Wednesday
  • Today will be the last tryout date for grade 9 Girls Volleyball 4-6pm Blue gym.
  • Students, please remember that when you are in our community - before school, at lunch, and after school - you are representing OKM. Please be kind, be respectful, and do your best to maintain expected safety protocols such as mask wearing and social distancing.
  • Attention Grad 2021. Grad Council will be meeting in the Gold Gym this Tuesday at Lunch. At this meeting, we will begin the process of electing our student leadership for 2021.
  • Sr Boys volleyball have added a practice on Tuesday 330-530pm. Thursday's practice is cancelled.
  • Yearbook is cancelled after school today. We will have a shorter meeting on Thursday morning in E3.
  • Cross Country Season 2020 is here. All athletes interested in running, sign up is on the Gold gym door. After sign-up, please add yourself to the Remind App link on the sign-up sheet. Most communication will be through the Remind App. Please pickup forms from Angie in the Resource Room on Thursday before dismissal.

 

Monday - September 28, 2020:

  • Tuesday will be the last tryout date for grade 9 Girls Volleyball 4-6pm Blue gym.

  • If you are in grade 12 interested in being nominated by OKM for the Loran Award, please see Ms. Dishaw in the Counselling Centre by the end of the day Friday. Please see the Counselling website for more information on the award.
  • Attention Grad 2021. If you are interested in joining Grad Council, please submit the google form sent to your district learn account. This submission is due by Friday, September 24th. If you are interested in a leadership role in Grad Council, please the submit the leadership google form as well. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Matheson.
  • OKM students who are interested in football are asked to sign up on the OKM Football Instagram account to get updates. The instagram account is @okmfootball2020.

Girls grade 9/10 tryouts begin this Thursday 530-730pm, Next week Tues/Thurs 530pm. Jr Boys practices will run every Monday and Wednesday at 330-530pm Blue gym starting on Sept 28.
  • OKM Girls grades 9-12 interested in playing field hockey. The team trains down at the CNC Turf every Monday and Wednesday 4-6 pm. Come down with your cleats, mask and water bottle and join the program. No previous experience necessary. See Coach Lisa Lamb. Tryouts start this week.

  • Our 2020 Yearbooks are here, and have been distributed -- it's not too late to get yours! Yearbooks are available for $40 in the office. If you believe that you ordered a yearbook, but did not receive it, please check with Ms. Otke in E3.
  • In the Multi, you hopefully have no noticed black garbage bags laying on the ground.  Please check to see if any of the bags are yours.  The bags are from last year's locker clean out.
  • Open Book Exchange in the Library everyday 8:30-9:00.
  • Do you need a little extra help completing your school work and your parents are looking at you like you are crazy when you ask them for help? Come to the Library after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school for the AI program. Its a place where you can get the extra help you need with your homework from Mr. Tam and Mr. Mike. It starts right after school and runs until 4:50 pm. And don't forget, we have snacks at 4. See you there!
  • The first Commercial Music and Music and Culture "in-person" classes are beginning next week, but please log into google classroom to receive the first assignments and important announcements and to ask questions.

* Sr. Girls Volleyball tryouts are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 3:30-5:50 in the Gold Gym. **TRYOUTS ARE CANCELLED FOR TODAY, TUESDAY (SEPT 15)**

* Sr. Boys Volleyball tryouts are Sept 14,15,16, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 7pm to 9pm in the Gold Gym.

* The first external Jazz Program rehearsals are starting up! The first rehearsal for each group is as follows: Grade 12 Jazz - Thursday at 7:45am, Grade 11 Jazz - Wednesday at 3:20pm and Grade 10 Jazz - Thursday at 3:30pm. Please check the OKM Music website (www.okmmusic.weebly.com) for details on how the program is running and reach out to Ms. Frederick if you have any questions!
